It’s been a whirlwind of activity for me these past couple of weeks, filled with memorable moments, time spent with family, blood tests, and biopsies. Despite all the activity, my Wordle streak continues…136.

In late January, my husband Mark and I traveled to South Carolina to visit our daughter Olivia and her husband Josh. Together, we helped them move into their first house. It was a lot of work, but it was such a rewarding experience to see them begin this new chapter in their lives. I am so anxious to watch them transition this house into their home.

I traveled with my sisters to California in early February for our niece’s wedding. It was a beautiful ceremony and a reminder of the power of love and family bonds. While in California, we explored Napa Valley, downtown Novato, and Point Reyes National Seashore. What adventures we had and memories we made.

I arrived home on Tuesday evening, and Wednesday morning was a bloodwork appointment. I had the bloodwork drawn; 5 minutes later, Mark and I headed to Bethany Beach, Delaware, my happy place. The weather was gorgeous for early February. I officially started my training for our Katy Trail bike ride with my first bike ride of 2024. It was a slow 8-mile ride. While in Bethany, I received the results of my bloodwork. My liver enzyme numbers were down over 200 points. What the heck!!! Put on those dancing shoes; it’s happy dance time. Was it the Extreme Cheese Doritos, the wine tasting in Napa Valley, or the big, juicy cheeseburger? Finally, my numbers are heading in the right direction.

Does that mean no liver biopsy?

Unfortunately, my liver enzyme numbers this week weren’t as positive, and I had a liver biopsy yesterday. I’m sore today and will take it easy for the next week. I should get the results within a week. The waiting is the hardest part. The rollercoaster of uncertainty can be overwhelming.

With all the activity of the past few weeks, I decided I needed to change my mindset. From “I am dying from terminal cancer…MBC” to “I am living with terminal cancer.” I’m living, and nothing is going to stop me. As I navigate this journey, I am reminded of the importance of embracing life’s adventures, big and small. There is always something to be grateful for, even in the whirlwind.

Thank you for your continued support and encouragement.
